We ship to Canada and the United States! Scroll down for American Shipping info!
Shipping from Keremeos, BC, is calculated at checkout, with real time, Canada Post shipping rates.
We are no longer using Canada Post flat rate shipping.
Shipping is calculated by Canada Post at check-out and is weight based. Due to this, we are unable to change shipping fees on multiple orders. If you would like to make a second (or third, or fourth ;) ) order, we kindly ask that you place another order through the website. *We do not make money on shipping!* . No refunds on shipping charges also stops the "one and done" check out that happens during a website opening, where people go through the check out process with only one variety, in order to ensure they get the variety they want. Another strategy we use to combat the Dahlia frenzy. The added shipping charges also covers the added weight of your shipping box, as we do try to ship your tubers all in one shot, although it is not guaranteed. If you make multiple orders and select the pick up option as a way of by-passing the added shipping charges, your order will be refunded immediately, and your order will be cancelled, without notice. We do add bonus tubers as a way of saying "thank you" for your understanding. We are unable to answer emails or social media messages requesting a refund on shipping fees for multiple orders, due to the increasingly busy time of year. If you do make multiple orders, please put the order numbers in the memo box at check out. This helps us tremendously in making sure it all goes in the same box!
We have decided, after careful deliberation not to offer early shipping. Early shipping impacts when we wake our tubers for disease monitoring, and will change our ability to ensure your tubers are not presenting with bacterial infection prior to shipping. Your tubers may also be dormant when shipped, if shipped too early. Shipping generally begins by mid-March, depending on temperatures and according to zone, beginning with the Western provinces. We not only consider temperatures in your area, but we also watch temperatures between your area and our area. For example: if you live in Ontario, and temperatures in Manitoba are still too cold for shipping, we will send your Dahlia tubers when it warms up in Manitoba too, so your tubers don't freeze in transit. Orders are sent out on Mondays and Tuesdays only, to increase the chances that your order doesn't get stuck in a transfer facility over the weekend. Don't worry! Dahlia planting doesn't start until May long weekend in most parts of the country! Shipping generally concludes by end of May. Due to the busy-ness of the Spring shipping season, emails or messages asking when you will receive your tubers cannot be answered. You will receive an order confirmation when you order, email shipping notification when your order ships, and a tracking number. We know how excited you are to get your tubers and we're just as excited to get them to you! We're working hard to get them to you as early as possible! We promise! Please check your orders as soon as you receive them! Please let us know within 48 hrs. of delivery if you have any questions or concerns. After 48 hrs. your tubers are your responsibility so please ensure you know how to care for them if you are unable to plant them right away. We receive delivery notification when your parcel arrives, so we know when we can breathe again! Please ensure you read the terms and conditions page for more information on our policy!
Pick up will be available for people local to the Keremeos area only. If you have an address outside the Keremeos/Cawston/Olalla/Twin Lakes area, please choose shipping. Outlying areas including Kaleden, Okanagan Falls, Penticton, Oliver, Osoyoos, must choose shipping. It's generally under $20 to ship, which is comparable to the time and resources it takes to make it here on pick up day, which will be one set date again. You will likely get your tubers earlier as well (up to as much as possibly a month earlier!), as farm pick up won't be until mid to late May, and last year, we sent BC orders out in early March. If you choose pick up, and do not submit an address, your order will be cancelled and refunded immediately. Unfortunately, last year, farm pick up for people outside the immediate local area was extremely difficult despite trying to accommodate everyone. We thank you for your understanding, as we try to balance the busy-ness of preparing for planting season, shipping and pick up.
We will be offering shipping to the States again this year! American orders require a Phytosanitary Certificate to legally get across the border. Orders are in inspected by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency inspectors in order to obtain a phytosanitary certificate. You must purchase the Phyto certificate with your order. You can purchase the Phyto in the same section as the Dahlias. If the order has an American address and does not have a Phyto with it, it will be refunded and cancelled.
All of the above mentioned conditions apply, please see Canadian shipping for info on policies re: multiple order shipping etc . Phyto inspections occur in approx mid- April and you do not need a second Phyto for subsequent orders. Please put the original order number in the memo box, and any other subsequent order numbers, so we can put them all together. If you do not, and we do not see the Phyto, your order risks being cancelled and refunded. Orders for American addresses must be submitted by March 15th. Any American orders received after March 15th will be refunded. This allows us time to ensure all multiple orders are combined and the Phyto certificate is accurately completed. Inspections occur generally around mid-April. Once inspection occurs, we have 2 weeks to get your orders out the door. Due to this *very* limited time line, any requests for changes to the Phyto such as address changes, must be submitted via email by March 15th, and flag it as high importance. Please ensure we have received your email. If we don't respond, we didn't receive your request, and cannot be responsible. Please understand that the Phyto certificate is government documentation that has to be sent to CIFA, prior to inspection, and once they are sent to CIFA, they cannot be altered. We thank you for your understanding!
