Disease - We do not re-sell imported Dahlia tubers. We grow everything we sell and tubers are grown for at least one season before being released for purchase. We incorporate many strategies for disease prevention and control, including crop rotation, strict and aggressive culling practices, tool and equipment sanitization, pest control, soil sterilization and many more. We try very hard to keep our gardens healthy, and want yours to be too! That being said, some bacterial and viral infections can lay dormant in a tuber for up to several years, or be transmitted by pests, and try as we might, there are no guarantees. Which means we cannot guarantee disease free. When given proper care, Dahlias can suppress viral infections and grow beautifully. Virus like signs can appear early in the growing season, and when the plants are stressed. With proper nutrition, your plants will thrive! DO NOT PULL YOUR PLANTS IN EARLY SPRING if you think your plant is showing signs of disease! FEED IT several times, and it will rebound beautifully.
Tuber ID - We handle each and every single Dahlia tuber individually and we do our best to accurately identify each and every one. Tubers are labelled when divided prior to being stored; tagged prior to planting, and again once they've bloomed. But mistakes happen. We cannot guarantee variety.
Eyes and viability - Tubers are sold as individual tubers, not clumps. We do our absolute best to send you a viable Dahlia tuber with at least one established eye or shoot. We value your support and want to give you a quality product that is reliable. We remove our Dahlia tubers from storage early to try to wake them up prior to shipping. Due to the shear quantity of tubers, we start in late January, and it can take several months to complete; however, some don't come out until near mid-March. The ones that come out first, need to be kept somewhat cool, which can slow them down; however, if we warm them too quickly, they grow plants, and need to be cut. We try not take cuttings from your tuber! (Please, don't message us asking to remove your tubers early so you can take cuttings when they get to you!) Sometimes, tubers haven't quite woken up by the time it's time to ship them to you. Mother Nature is not perfect and neither are we. Sometimes, tubers just don't wake up, and are duds, or they may still take several months to wake up. We *always* have many, very small plants in October, because, one day, it finally decided to wake up, and we thought it was a dud. We have no way of telling, that early in the season (April/May), which ones are sleepy heads, and which ones are duds. We will not send you anything we wouldn't put in the ground with a reasonable expectation to grow. Therefore, there will be no refunds or credits issued for tubers that do not grow.
Refunds, credits and order cancellation - Once you've placed your order, you agree there will be no cancelling. We advise you unpack your Dahlia tuber order when you receive it, to inspect it. Once you receive your Dahlia tubers, you will have 48 hours to let us know of any concerns. We receive notification when your order arrives. If we don't hear from you, then we think everything is A-ok. We are incredibly responsive to emails, and incredibly customer service oriented. We WANT you to be happy! If you sent the email, we'll get it, and respond very quickly. Every Purchaser email address is put on a priority list to ensure we get the emails and provide the best customer service possible. For even higher priority, mark the email as urgent. Please add us to your contacts list or safe senders list so you don't miss your order confirmation, tracking number or any other responses requiring an email from us! If you don't hear from us, check your junk or spam folders!
Refunds will be issued if we cannot send your order or under catastrophic circumstances like your order froze in transit, or the tuber has rot when it arrived (which will not happen). You MUST send us pictures of your order, within 48 hrs., that includes the hand written identification on the tuber. Don't worry! There are seldom any situations where the tuber is so destroyed we can't identify a tuber that came from us.
We reserve the right to apply a credit at our discretion, for all other concerns. Once passed the 48hr mark of your tuber arrival, your tubers are your responsibility. Please ensure you know how to properly care for your tubers if you are unable to plant them once they arrive.
ALL Dahlia photos used on our website were taken by us, on our farm. Dahlias are notorious for not photographing true to colour and we enhance photos to represent the most true bloom colour possible. Dahlias are also notorious for blooming in varying shades of colour; for example, some blush colours may bloom a more apricot colour for you, or more pink for someone else. There are many environmental factors that can impact the colour of your blooms. We try to present the colour of the bloom as closely as possible, to the colour they bloom for us. We ask that you do not print or use our photos in any other manner. Thank you!
We appreciate your business! We look forward to sharing our love of Dahlias with you!
